To help you choose your language courses and language proficiency tests, the MDL team proposes that you self-assess your language proficiency by taking the Dialang on-line test. This test is based on the Common European Framework of References for Languages.

The skills evaluated in any given language are aural comprehension, written expression, written comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. You can choose to be evaluated in some or all of these skills.

The languages available are: Spanish, French, Greek, Portuguese, Irish Gaelic, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish, Dutch, German, English, Italian or even Icelandic.

With the exception of the first page, which is in English, all instructions and tests chosen are accessible in French and many other languages. To go to the next page just click on the button or on the Dialang logo.

Plan on having some time to do the test. At the end of the test, remember to print or take a screen shot of your test results if you wish to have a record of your level. Warning: the Dialang on-line test is not an official certifying language proficiency test.

Recommended browsers are Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
